Chili will be ready when I get home tonight. And the house will be filled with the wonderful aroma....MMmmmmmmm. The weathers just perfect for it. Been craving it for a bit....

Got it put on around 5:30 this morn. Veggies from the garden this summer (onions, and tomatoes). Deer hamburger makes the best meat for chili. Then the rest is grocery items.

The first bowl of chili, I always look forward too. Especially since it's got garden veggies in it....

Looks good. I just whipped up some chilli in the Texas skillet after I came in from splitting. Sure did hit the spot.

Love chili, especially the next day. Seems the flavors of the veggies and herbs just get better and better. I like a good chunk of warm buttered garlic bread to sponge up some of the sauce.

Never thought of that. Usually just Zesta crackers, either crumble or whole depending on my attitude at the time. My friend last year got me started putting a little bit of Apple vinegar in the bowl. It just gives a bit of a twang to it.

Use a dense chewy kind of bread. One with a dense crust. Yum.

Yeah, I decided to put up Van Gogh's the Mulberry Tree.

Texas skillets are an oversized version of the regular skillet. Like Jethro's flap jacks were made in on the Hillbillies. The one I own is stainless steel with a copper heat diffuser.

I just throw in stale tortillas the last few minutes of cooking to make a thick chilli. Then saltines at the table.
