I don't have anything typed up yet but this tasted very good. We combined about three different recipes. We have plenty left so we'll be having more this weekend, breakfast will be cooked on top of the wood stove tomorrow morning. In the picture, the Dutch Oven is a 4 quart and the new Lodge deep skillet combo cooker is a 3 quart. We combined parts of the three recipes below, once I get it typed up, I'll post it. http://www.food.com/recipe/cast-iron-chicken-418460 http://thehomesteadsurvival.com/cast-iron-dutch-oven-chicken/ http://lubbockonline.com/stories/031908/liv_259266577.shtml
Wow Zap, everythings looking soooo good. Very colorful and appetizing. I'll be ready for the breakfast pics in the morning, I'll be here
We use cast iron on our electric stove. The last thing I bought was a big colored cast iron dutch oven for the wife. She likes it!
We have a total of 9, 6 of them we can use on the wood stove top and the rest are for outside (they're bigger then the cooking area on the wood stove) something to make coffee on top of the wood stove will be our next purchase. This 12 cup coffee pot is what we might order next.
We did breakfast this morning, we cooked the sausage patties first, toast was second and the eggs were last.
Looks great Zap! We went antiquing today in Lancaster, and I found many CI pieces, specifically a Dutch oven, but the price wasn't where I wanted it.
We did the toast dry, they were done real quick....... I put them on a plate but before I could take a picture the wife had them upstairs.
Something will come around, the sausage patties I bought were not bad but not great either, we'll be making some from our sausage recipe.
When I was helping my neighbor push in a bunch of wood, the boss cooked this on the wood stove, boy was this good.
Zap, tell Mrs. Zap to check out the page "woodstove cookery" on facebook. Usually some good info/recipes there!
