Anyone wear chainsaw pants instead of chaps? I kind of want to try some, easier to carry out in the woods, otherwise the chaps strap goes over the holster etc.
And leg movement should be easier, might be hotter in the summer *pondering*

Have you considered the wrap around style chaps? I found them much nicer than the simple front style.

I no longer have branches that find their way underneath.

I wear fallers pants , they give 360 degree protection on both legs ! They are comfortable and work like rain pants in the rain !

The only thing wrong with this video I did not wear Caulk boots !

Barcroftb might have some good input on this. Not sure if he wears saw pants or chaps when he's climbing.

I do wear saw pants, but what I have found is that they are kinda hard to take off without getting into trouble if you get too hot.

take a look at the arbor wear dogwoods or clogger zeroes. Those two will probably be about the coolest most light weight.

I bought the Dogwood brand from Arborwear and really like them compared to chaps. Much cooler and easier to move around in.

Do the chainsaw pants give the same level of protection as the chaps?

I like but would not recommend the Husqvarna chaps. Pocket threads coming undone on mine, and something else quality wise.....for $90 they protect, but the quality isnt what Id have wanted.

Clogger claims the zeros exceed US standards for coverage by 15% and chain speed threshold by 25%. I believe the arborwear dogwoods are similar.

I looked at the Clogger myself.
Really confused when I look at the size chart though.

33 inch waist and tall so if I went to their chart it comes up as small/tall ?
That to me makes little sense.

With warmer weather approaching I might need to look back into this.

Yeah the size chart for them is different. While I really like how my generation 1 clogger zeros have held up to daily use and climbing over the last 3 years, I’m probably going to replace them with the dogwoods which are cheaper.
