Ok, sometimes my head just doesn't get clicking the way it should. Here's a dumb question.
Using a grinding wheel. The ten degrees goes which way for which tooth?
For the left teeth do I cock the slant towards me or away? I realize I'm asking these questions very badly but I'm sure someone here will understand and help,me get this sorted out.

BTW I've actually ground a chain in both directions and it seemed to work both ways. This is probably saying more about my chain grinding ability than anything else.
I just bought one of those fancy diamondish blades and want to start doing things right.

If the chisel point is facing you, rotate the head toward you also.

The effect on cutting edge angles is minor -its ok to skip the head tilt altogether.

I have a pic of this I posted recently on AS that i don't have in front of me at the moment. You can look for it if you want

Rather than trying to remember ..............
Set the table to zero slant, set up and look at the cutter that you wish to sharpen. The top plate will be slanted in one of the two directions, now just slant your table so the top plate is level ............. easy peasy

Thanks folks, that's just the kind of slap up side the head I was looking for.

I stopped doing the tilt thing long ago. Just leave it at zero.

The tilt function gives a bit more clearance to the tie strap ( which you should not be contacting with the wheel) additionally when the vitrified wheels become smaller you will still have some flat area ( of the wheel) contact at the top plate edge on the rear side.
