Saw this fall over while I was hunting a few months ago. Had some cooler temps today and I had the day off so I went for it. Took out a small blue beech that was in my way and decided to cut up a large sycamore branch that's been sitting awhile.

Probably my last scrounge until the fall when things die back down... everything greened up so fast and I don't feel like contending with snakes and ticks.

Tn. is such a scenic area. The snakes and ticks however...… I'd be mowing short. And ofteno_O

    With a flamethrower nonetheless :)
I can’t talk tho. Rattler dens in my area and the ticks can be outrageous. Stay out of the woods in the summer.

Nice looking wood Moparguy. Cant believe how green everything is. Not even close to that here in Connecticut. I was driving home the other day and found three ticks on my pants. No snakes til late Spring here.

That is some good wood for sure. Nothing wrong with ash.

Nice. That blue beech had best be burned next winter! I've always notice that is does not keep well even under cover. That always seems strange to me too because of how hard that stuff is.

Copperheads mostly. I've only seen one rattlesnake and that was on the road. A quick burnout over top of him took care of that.

I leave the kingsnakes alone, apparently they'll eat the other snakes and I've never had any reason to kill one.

It seems like everything just "popped". I walk outside one morning to head to work and it's suddenly spring.

I can't stand those things crawling on my... especially around my junk.

Beautiful country down there for sure. Dad is from Ky and I had a terrible lesson taught about chiggers while sitting in a cousins grass.
Them are some nasty little critters.
Ash is probably my all around favorite for availability processing and seasoning time even the smell when it burns kind of vanilla to me.
Beech does not keep well for what ever reason. Elm is another puzzling tree if left standing it will keep until the bark falls off. Once on the ground
then it seems to get punky really fast. Great pics Moparguy!

Same here Moparguy, with the rain and temp hitting 90 here this week it went green in like 4 days-the redbuds in bloom are awesome but its too much too soon IMO-Always make time for some good ash! Nice job
