Does anyone have any experience with these? I've been spoiled burning the AWF's I got at HD. It's nice to burn a good pellet when it's cold out. So I'm thinking ahead to next year when the AWF's won't be available. I want to try to find a nice burning pellet for the cold days without breaking the bank. Local farm supply store has been selling these for a few years now. I don't know what their pricing is but it will be fairly high. Looking for any input from the pros.

I heard good heat, But a bit ashy for a softy. I have never got my hands on any to try myself. Don't seem to make it down this far. You might need to be the goose on this one!

We'll be all ears! Or is that eye's on forums? ;)

Gee sub, I never did do a search on them and assumed they were softies being from CA. Here's the spec's and the link for what its worth. Notice the 0.61% ash content so at least I got that right. BTU's also look a little low IMHO. If your looking for something close to the AWF you might wanna keep checking. My estimated guess on the lastest batch of AWF is under 0.48%.

Yeah, that's what I was afraid of. With what's available up in my neck of the woods, the only thing close to AWF is gonna cost close to $300/ton. I like to see HD get a couple more truckloads of them. I'd break the bank and stuff what I could in the basement. We don't get the selection of real good pellets at decent prices up here. Pretty much box store or go broke.

Subby, if you can get the Canawicks at a good price, why not get them for shoulder season burning.

I know I can't get them as cheap as the FSU's and MWP's. They would be about $40 or more a ton more.

I work with a fella thats from CA. He visited his parents this summer and grabbed a few of these along with a few LG's Maximum hardwood while he was there. He liked both and thinks they are the same or so close you can't tell em a part. He rated them above FSU and Stove Chow. Heat was close to the Hamer Hot ones he burnes most of the season.

He was surprised by how hot they were. Not worth trying to haul back a ton, But will stuff the camper compartments full when he heads back up this summer.

He's got me interested in them, So maybe try some for us if possible? I'd be interested in your thoughts on the if you do!
