Our tree goes onto our deck and stays green well into spring. Once it turns, we put it in the burn pile. When I finally burn it, I get flames going 25+ feet up in the air. I keep telling myself that I want to get a live tree. Yes they are more expensive, but you can pre-dig the hole for one in the fall. Once Xmas is over you can go plant the tree. I have a stone wall where I'd love to line it with Xmas trees. Jason from RI
We take ours out to either add to a brush pile or create a new one. Rabbits love them and it gives other critters places to hide. Even during the summer months birds can hide, say, if a hawk is after them and they need a quick hiding place.
Recycle places here are the grocery stores. some get chipped for mulch on trails , some for lakes & creeks for salmon fry habitat
