Back when I installed my boiler 2012? I was on a now dormant wood boiler message board. There was talk of adding coal to the wood- I suppose it helps make the firewood use last longer.

does this still,go on today ? I see Tractor supply sells 40lb bags. Just wondering how it helps the use of th3 boiler

I've heard of it being done, but have never heard of anyone saying it transformed their boiler...I think I'd just look for some hedge or locust, some kind of heavy hitter/high coaling wood like that...
