Buggers. My wife broke her foot last night. (In at least 3 places) :hair::doh:

She was having a hard time with crutches, so I picked up a knee scooter for her today so she can get around. Not sure how long she will be off her foot, but the ER doctor said at least a month or two.

Sorry to hear that, hope she heals fast. Nothing worse than losing your mobility.

Those knee scooters are great to provide a bit of independence.

Hope she heals up fast. It puts an extra load on you until she is back on her feet. Do you have any kids that are close to home who could help out?

Sorry to hear that; I know what it's like to be crippled due to an injury. Hope she heals quickly and completely!

My lady had a Jones Fracture in her foot that took 18 months to heal. A few inexpensive things that she found helpful were some grab-bars for the bathroom, and a booster seat for the porcelain throne. She found it difficult to keep weight off of her foot while stepping into the tub/shower, so we got a shower bench from a relative that sits half-out of, half-in the tub so she could sit down first and then swing her foot in. You could probably find one cheaply on FB Marketplace. Oh, and a grabber tool for picking up small things off the floor.

Here's hoping for a complete recovery *raises a glass*

Ugh, I'm sorry! I broke just one bone in my foot years ago, the boot and crutches were worthless to me. I ended up messing up my hips swinging the boot around instead:picard: I hope she adapts well the the knee scooter, sounds like a much better deal than hauling around the boot by itself or with crutches..

She was sitting in her office chair and her foot fell asleep, but it was so asleep she couldn’t feel it. She turned the chair around to get up and her ankle rolled when she tried to stand up. I was on the couch and it sounded just like she stepped on and crushed a cardboard box. I was thinking maybe she stubbed her toe, but her reaction was not normal for a stubbed toe. I looked over and there was no box. I took her straight to the ER.

I fell asleep on the toilet one time and my foot fell asleep...luckily I only broke 2 toes.

Hope your wife heals quickly and the subsides!
