Checked out FB Marketplace firewood for sale near me just to see what the going rate was, and came across this. Interesting. I’ll just bet he will be swamped with customers!

I never heard that term before joining FHC either. We definitely don't use that term here in Wisconsin.

Rick is about 1/4 cord of firewood in Nashville...seems to run ~$1000 (including the obligatory Benjamin tip)

Supposedly a Rick is the same as a face cord... which would be 1/3 cord, if cut to 16".

The problem is that a Rick is not recognized as an official/legal quantity of firewood, anywhere.
Locals may accept it, but everytime this comes up nobody has been able to provide a legally recognized definition of a Rick, that I can recall...

When people here in indiana call my boss for wood they ask for a Rick or a cord
Here a Rick=a face cord but no one knows what a face cord is so it's called Rick lol.
We sell our wood at work in ibc totes that equal almost exactly a facecord(Rick)
So 3 totes to a cord
Now my personal stash I would never attempt to measure accurately. It's a giant pile of all different lengths and sizes.
So to me at home Rick, facecord, cord means nothing. I just know I always need to find and split more wood

A bushel is 1.25 cu/ft. So that guy selling a bushel of firewood for $2 is actually quite a deal compared to the store front bundles of .75 cu/ft for $9, assuming you like to wade through briars and poke to cut and burn 2" diameter Holly and Cedar and Fir. Here are a couple more pictures from that FB ad.
