We over to my best buddy's place today to help him get his woodshed completed. Amazing part about this shed is that he has a grand total of $63.00 invested in it. The base is a 7 x 22 pressure treated deck that I was able to get him for a freebie about 10 years ago. He had all of the other lumber from various scrounges. He was able to find the roof tin @ a local farm taken down on a old barn. Got enough tin to do 2 woodsheds for $20. The other $43 was eaten up by the galvanized Roofing screws. Figured it out and he will be able to get 6.25 cord in er'. All in all a great day. Tomorrow he can start loading er'.
What reason was to set up in the air? I'm just asking, I had to stack wood for a customer on something like that. I did 4 cords over 2 trips. By the time I got done my knees were pretty hammered from climbing up and down so many times. My stacks are on gravel "raised beds" that are maybe 8" tall and even that is a hassle when doing the first 2 rows (total of 3 rows)
Woodshed looks good!, and from the homeowners point of view it looks even better when you spend just $63 on a valuable part of the cycle we call firewood hoarding (and drying and bucking and splitting) Is the beer and pizza included in the $63??
My first shed was 12x16 it was cheap but still cost a few hundred $$. Had to buy the 1x4 to screw tin too. The 4x4 posts and the headers and various things including hangers and concrete. Looks good.
Wow that is cheap!!! The shed I built I got the tin and 2x4s from one of those pre made storage sheds. My friend disassembled it for me including putting all screws in a bucket. So I reused those
X2! I always try to build with materials i already have lying around or stuff i've scrounged here and there. I literally only have the cost of fuel (hauling the skids from the granite shop) and a few dollars for some cull lumber i picked up in my shed build. Everything else we had on hand. My dad has aquired enough hardware and lumber over the years to start a small building supply store. Nice job on that shed! Get er filled up quick, winter's just around the corner
Well, he was able to get a start on filling it. Good thing too, because we got a real gully washer last night.
A good looking shed ! Even better looking with wood in there Will be a" great looking shed " when all filled up Dry - findable wood through the winter is " NOT overrated " A superb scrounged project !
