Hello to the hoard of Hoarders... Its been a while since ive been here.... 20 month old kid, business thats poppin, End of days, duck head governor trying to end our livlihoods..... but i digress.....

I have some hickory(from York PA, wrightsville actually.) that is 1 year seasoned in the shed, moved it from the stacks in the yard this spring....

I got bugs and not sure how to handle it, these guy were there when in the yard but i thought theyd leave once it dried out.... its at about 22% right now. i sprayed them with the bayer yard bugs stuff and the termites and carpenter ants stuff.

Anybody know what they are and how to obliterate them.

Thanks in advance - the Cupcake family.....

Point being, great picks of your bug.
I found this guy today on a Shad Tree we planted to bring in Cedar Waxwings. And it didn’t take me long, between the net and a friend, to figure out the next course of action.

SBH always generates dust piles from the borers. If they come out while the wood is in my basement, I fog em.

Aaron, you could try Diatomaceous earth.
It's sposed to be a good insect killer.

I had hickory borers in some locust a couple years back and they would come out in the basement as the wood warmed. After checking them out on the internet, I just let them go cuz they won't hurt anything. If they were flying around while I was down there loading the stove I would suck them up with the shop vac. I decided not to spray a lot of stuff cuz the furnace pulls the warm air at the woodstove into the return duct there that feeds the whole house. I do spray my woodshed wood now though and try to spray the batch that will be coming into the basement about a week or so before I bring it in, seems to help some. I use some home defense spray I pick up in gallon jugs when it's on sale. I had bought one that has a battery operated sprayer on it a few years back and I love that thing... Saves the wrist from those pump type gizmos... I didn't mind that stuff when I was 25... LOL
