Thought I would give it a run at a new thread since I just got signed up. Here's whats gonna heat the shack for Momma and I this year. This stove should roll out more than the old one I believe, so I might not have as much time to be on here this winter. As my signature reflects I may be a little distracted.
Here you go PD...first breakin fire. We are going to have 40's next week so may get a couple more in.
LOL...not yet Woody. You had ask about my layout. 1500sf. Stove is in the finsihed basement with lots of insulation down there, 7ft ceiling. Very open stairwell (raised ranch), insulation in the upstairs walls is minumum and attic is fair. The back bedrooms are what I have the trouble heating well and I have tried about every fan combination imaginable short of putting a register back there with a duct fan to return the cold air to the basement. I don't worry about it too much anymore, I have natural gas hot water (new boiler 2011) and it has 2 zones with 2 thermostats. The one in the back of the house I just leave set on about 68 and it may kick on a little by morning or run if it is really cold (in the teens or below).
I learned something new today USMC80....Just did a search on the bluestone. Now I like that hearth even better brother, very nice job too.
Sweet! I just LOVE the big stone look. If I was ever to build/design a house, it would definitely have a BIG OLE stone hearth behind a big ole stove!
Thanks guys for all the nice comments. I had the third break in fire Monday night....I think I am gonna like this stove real well.
