What are your preference on brush cutter heads to be used with a string trimmer?

I have a 27cc? Kawasaki, straight shaft pro style trimmer. I'd like to tackle mostly brush and possibly small saplings <1".

Never used the 3 blade style and I see there are many variants. I think the circular saw head looking thing/ or the guy with the saw cutters would be way overkill for my application. Over an inch and I can get the saw.

I'd go circular saw blade as well. I used one on a husqy brush cutter and it was nice

The 3 blade style works well in heavy weeds and grass but aren't good for brush. You want saw style blades.

I like the 3 blade style in around my stone walls better than the saw blade. As Lukem says, best in heavy weeds and grass, mine will take out a woody stem about the size of a pencil.

I use a three blade/ninja star almost everyday and really like it. Like said above though if you plan on cutting saplings get a circular saw blade. If you just plan on occasionally running into saplings and mostly briars and such get the 3 blade/ninja star. The 3 blade will cut down a sapling no problem but not as quick a circular saw blade.

You guys got links to the circular/ 3 blade products you use? Too many variants to just google and buy.

If you ask, the worst thing that can happen is they say "no".

That's what I thought. You can hire a lot of clearing done and sit on the porch with a cold beer for that price.

I use the Stihl's steel tri-blade, and it's great. Typically I'm going through stalked plants, briars, and saplings under 1".

A landscaper buddy of mine has the circular saw blade, he likes it when going through a bunch of saplings, but found that it's slower when going through brush so he picked up one like mine as well.

I'm guessing the trimmer I used to use with the tri-blade didn't have enough azz to pull it in brush...based on how many people are saying they are great in brush. Work great in stalked weeds, but didn't like anything really woody. I stand corrected.

I use it with a FS 85 Pro, which has some power behind it. I wouldn't use it for just wood as I'm sure it's hard on the shaft, but it will do it when needed.

Don't think the chainsaw style cutter would work on a 27cc powerhead.

I think I'll grab the tri blade style as the brush I have is smaller stuff. If it doesn't work, then carbide circular saw style. Problem with the Kawi is the arbor size is goofy, so hopefully I can rig up the existing setup (safely) with what is out there.
