Cool pic! Sounds like you got things under control, a load of locust should keep plenty of warmth for the overnite

I like the carport idea, its snowing and your wood is staying nice and dry. Best I have is shagbark, I saved it for a cold snap like we're having now.

I've been burning mostly ion oak this year, just the way it worked out. This year I have almost all good stuff that is plenty dry. Pin oak, locust, mulberry, pear, and then my lesser stuff is a little cherry and some pine.

Still rolling this morning, I set the stove a little lower than I was with the oak and still had plenty of heat this morning and big piles of coals.

I loaded nothing but Black Locust last night. I've never loaded the entire stove with BL before, got an amazingly hot, slow and long burn out of it. I left this morning at 9 (10 hours) and it had about 3 hours left to go. Temps were in the single digits all night. LOVE the BL too!

Sean, it appears that carport definitely was a good idea. Glad you have some prime wood in there.

Excellent! BL is sporadic here - never had a chance to try it, but would love too. Really like the way you store your wood - seems to be keeping most of the snow and ice off the stacks - nice work! Cheers!
