Built in 85 . It was the first year of Mighty Mite producing band Sawmills. 17 horse Kohler, hydraulic raise/lower and feed. 16+' cut length Over 12" depth of cut I haven't measured the cant width but its at least 24" Everything runs and works very good except the water drip system. That will be an easy fix. Cost was less than a WM LT 10 at the factory. And it only took me 1/2 hour to tow it home with my pickup. I'm excited to get it set up and milling.
The only rust on it is light surface . So this mill didn't spend much time on the coast , if any. Which is GREAT! Some of the hyd hoses are showing their age but they are fairly easily replaceable. It did not come with a book. I'm hoping MM can get me one.
I spend part of yesterday lubing and freeing up all the log and cant dogs. Its been a few years since this mill was used. Glad I save my used motor oil . I don't have a big area here to set up the mill so I'll have to maximize my space. I'll probably have to mill the logs straight from the trailer that I haul them home on. Not the worst thing. When we move I'll have plenty of room tho.
That should make for some nice clean slabs. I know I sure would be looking forward to getting it going. Congrats.
Myself, I would never be without a sawmill. I got a couple of them and honestly think the Woodmizer is impossible to beat, but understand parting with cold, hard cash too. I think you made a great choice though. It is far easier to rebuild something that has been already engineered out, then start with a homemade version.
Living where you live, that would be one of the #1 items on my list to buy. Bet its going to be fun, nice mill.
Thanks . As with many things it takes longer than I normally think to get something happening. I wanted to be sure I was doing everything right. I ordered a book for my mill. It got here on Friday. So far so good !!. This week I'll get it moved to its spot for the winter. Too small a pad for all the junk I have. The mill has 4 stabilizers , one in each corner. 3" od square tube . I got 4 new blades today the seller had stashed . And a new to me . in Great shape 288 Husky.
