Anyone have any recommendations on books that talk about behaviors of fire, how to build efficient fires...wood to burn when..etc?
Perhaps I'm going to run into the common sense here but thought Id just find a good book for the bathroom to read over and over. Giving me good reminders and all that. : ) thanks!

The only book I use is FHC. It's got some of the best authors of fire you will ever find.

Backwoods Savage Wrote a great preamble for this. All credit for that. I guess Im looking for a book that might be considered a college text, maybe even research articles on such topics may be available.

Well, I could certainly make that a college text and have been encouraged by many, many folks to expand it into a book. Perhaps I should? I never thought of myself as a writer but it seems especially over the last 10 years people have been trying to talk me into it. Not sure...

Id read it for the value of the text. Grizzly Adams has done some great work on other resources on here. Perhaps compile and make an official FHC book? Worthy of the Swag Shoppe.

Lots of reading here and it will eventually stick in your brain. That, and just experiment with different wood placement/wood size and air settings, and it will be second nature in no time at all.
