There is an auction coming up near me that has a Bodega Bay model fireplace insert on the auction. It is an estate sale and they are auctioning the insert and the chimney liner as one package. The winning bidder will be responsible for removing the insert and liner.
My question for you guys is: does anyone have this unit or (one similar)? How does it work. My office is in a 1950's / 1960's ranch style house that has been converted to an office building. The fireplace in this building has never had a fire in it. So, I was thinking of installing a fireplace insert as a nice conversation piece, plus the idea of adding some heat to my space is appealing. I would install the unit with one of my guys who used to be a chimney sweep.
So, any insights would be appreciated.

I am not familiar with this insert, but hopefully someone else is?

Seems like a good unit at almost 2.5 cubic feet.

It's a lot like the 4100I insert. Quad makes a pretty mean insert, and when it comes down to it the older ones like that one are better than the newer models. You won't be disappointed. 3 sided bay window, good quad burn system etc. It's a winner if it can be had at a good price, just make sure the secondary burn tubes and baffle are in good shape and there is no warping or cracking on the inner fire box showing signs of over fire.
