20" bar may be a bit long on a 45cc engine. I don't think I'd wanna go more than 18" at the most with a 45cc. But then I don't know anything about the Blue Max brand. It could be a turbo charged tree eating machine for all I know.:tears:

Yep. Same saw as an Earthquake, Devon, Richmond, etc...

This was the 20 inch model (same as the 54 cc 18" Earthquake, but a bigger bar). It was about $79 if I remember correctly?

I sold it 2 weeks after I got it. And bought 3 Earthquakes. :D

I may have a carb left off of the Short block when I upgraded from the 45 cc engine to the 58 cc engine? If I do? It's yours..

    Cool thanks!!

I think and hope the one on mine is just fubared. A kit made no difference.

If you dont have one its no big deal. They have generic 45cc Chinese carbs on ebay for $10 shipped (via the slow boat) from china. So if you can't find it I can get one off the bay.

I think its on left. Let me go look.

Edit: yep its the one on the left if thats off a quake and not a similar saw. The adjustment screws sit in a cast area like on the left and it has a bras barb up top pointing the same direction. And that small brass barb by the H and L screws is there on mine for the primer ball system.

And mine is a walbro wt 893a model. Bit I know many carbs probably will fit and were uses on saws.

79 bucks?? WOW! How the heck can they do that and actually make money? And I don't care how bad the saw is, I wonder what the material alone cost on it? Crazy!

So was the saw any good, or is it just absolute crap?

Back in the day we were getting Earthquakes shipped to our house for $38-45 for 38,42,45cc saws ;)

Do we need to dig up the "official thread?"?

It want bad, but as Clem said, we were getting the same 45 cc saw in Earthquake form for less than $60 shipped.

These were not bad saws. A dual port muffler and a full chisel chain made them a very good saw.

The only problem I had with them? I didn't buy more when they were dirt cheap. :) lol

That's incredible! A Stihl 20" chain from a retail outlet is $35 by itself. When they run out of gas did you throw the saw away and pick up the next one? Was it worth spending the time to refill the fuel tank?

Seriously, that's amazing they can do that.

I love china stuff. I have a 45cc with a fuel problem right now. Hard to bring myself to spend much on it as I only paid $45 for it delivered!!!

But I will fix it. Its a decent saw!! If I can't get it to run it will just be parted out I guess :(

No. I actually installed a 58 cc engine into it.. :)

Then I sold it to my neighbor for $150. :D

There is several renditions of this saw (45 cc, 54 cc, and 58 cc) and all parts swap from one brand/size to the other.

So the heads looks the same size on them, is it just bored out more with a bigger cylinder in it? OR is there more to it...

How the heck do they make these so cheaply... I just can't get over that!

Chinese stuff: Last year I ordered a bunch of LED xmas type light strings to decorate my boat with for a party... I found some on some Chinese web site that sells chainsaws, led lights, pens, watches... you know the ones, anyway the LED light strings were 25' long, with 40 LED lights on them, with a plug at either end (so you could string multiple sets...). They were 79 cents each, INCLUDING shipping from China. So what the heck I ordered a few of them. They arrived in 6 days, they each had some postal stamp that said something like: "Postage 600,000", maybe that is 2 cents?? ;) Anyway, the lights are amazing multi colored waterproof LED lights with a controller that lets you dim, change color, do 36 different patterns.... HOW IN THE HECK CAN THEY DO THIS???

You can not buy 25' of wire, any kind of wire, for 79 cents. Now add 40 LED lights, 2 120v plugs, packaging, Labor to make it, international shipping, ... what the heck???

I have no idea bit there is something where the USPS delivers their mail for a heck of a deal bit for us to send there is really expensive.

I buy all kinds of stuff from ebay from china. Lots of it comes in 10 working days or less. Same thing .99 cents and thats shipping included. And transaction through paypal. No I dont have a business account on either and I know you get a break but ebay charges like 10% on sales and paypal takes $0.30+3% of the value of the transactions.

So if I sell something g for a $1 ebay gets $0.10 and paypal gets $0.33 on the transaction. So I am left with $0.57 to cover item cost and to ship it. Point is even if your a huge company in the us you still can't send a price of paper out to someone in the mail off ebay that you sold for $1 and make money!!!

I like it though. Cheap tools and stuff.

I love HF tools. They actually have decent quality on hand tools now. Way better than 8 years or so ago. With a lifetime warranty. No way I could afford all the tools I have now without HF.

Makes you wonder about the saws!!! The bar and chain is actually a name brand oregon bar and chain it sells on ebay for $30 as a combo.

But us guys buying the earthquakes were buying them straight from the importing company here In the US. Think there in minnesota.

I am sure that have a 40 foot container packed full of them and have like $15 a price in them or something?
