My King has failed the dollar bill test. I've adjusted the catch previously, not sure how much tension it might take if I re-adjust. I already have a wear groove in the cam/latch.
Am I OK to give the catch another turn, or is it time to replace the gasket?
    I'm thinking gasket. Thoughts?
    Thanks, JB

Give it a turn and see what happens. Worst case is replacing the gasket. I get two adjustments out of mine before replacing the gasket.

I replaced my cam/latch with the newer style one last season. I like it better than my original one.

When did they offer a new cam? Mines about 6 yrs. old. It wore in so quickly I have worried about it splitting at the wrong time if I increased tension too much.

I would keep tightening it until it bottoms out which will only be one or two turns. The old style latch threads into a welded in steel nut so you can only tighten one full turn at a time. The new stoves have an inner and outer nut, both loose so you can actually do a fine adjustment.

The new gasket is like 30$ and has got to be BK gasket and not generic stuff. The gasket lays over and is expected to bridge/seal the door glass nuts so a healthy amount of silicone is needed.

Door gasket is #1 important maintenance on these stoves. 95% of cat failures are due to door leaks according to BK.

I would love to update to the new style latch since the old bent over bolt setup does gouge out the latch and defeats the ramp. Must a guy replace both sides of the latch or just the part that attaches to the stove body?

Gave the latch another turn, door sealed tight. Not too much additional pressure either, so I'm probably good , for now.
I still need to contact BK for a correct fix.
    Thanks guys. :salute:
