I see the new Ashford 20 is available this year from Blaze King. I looked at the size specs and sadly its too large to fit on my hearth/fireplace. :(

That's OK, my keystone had no problem doing what I needed it to do during our coldest Winter ever last year.

Shucks, I thought You were getting ready to try out another one, I almost called today from work to see if they had the Sirocco 30 still in stock to replace the cracked Summit in the basement, don't need the pretty cast one down there, the IS has my interest also along with the NC30 for the price

You got that right, a watered down WS IS will come in at sub 2K. And if you are a no frills kind of stove owner you can probably get an IS fairly quick without any artwork.

Todd, are you still burning gas in the basement? Any plans to change that back to wood?

I don't think they actually made any until this burning season.

I think I'm going to at least go another Winter with the gas stove down there. Its pretty convenient taking the chill off down there but its also easy to let it run more than needed and burn a lot of gas. Last Winter was brutal and a learning curve so gas bill was a little higher than I'd like. I hope this year will be different.

I did cut my wood consumption down by a cord last year so that's a plus. Only burned a little over 2 cords.

But Todd, isn't it about time for you to try out another stove? I'd help you if we were closer.

Pete, I found a place in Davison that quoted 3400 for the Ashford 30. That was earlier this year if memory serves.
Princess was 3200, and the Sirocco 30 was 2900.

Thats interesting, Thursday I called again to pick their brain on the Sirocco 30 and the Jotul f55, $2834.00 out the door for the 30 with the blower set up, and $2519.00 on the f55. I thought the 55 was a little high but the 30 seemed to be not to bad of a deal, 12 months same as cash on both also. 3 to 5 week wait for the 30 is the biggest thought thats holding me back because we all know what that time frame can turn into. Ive been in some deep thought this weekend, that is alot of money but it seems to be alot of stove. The fire box measures 20x18 brick to brick with almost 13" of height same as my Summit so I think it would make a dandy replacement.

My understanding is the 30's fireboxes are the same.
My NC30 firebox is 20x20"xabout12" high, although I only use 16" n/s (size of my splits).

We bought the display model Todd and got a big discount that incluuded every feature available. ( because it was display ) I wont say its been trouble free we had a heck of a time figuring out an air leak right after we got it but since thats been fixed its been running great! If I remember right we paid $1792 after tax. It is a great stove... Back then we priced the Princess and it was $3100 plus you had to buy the door seprate for $200 so 3300 was the cheapest available..... Granted its been almost 3 years now. The price of Jotul also heavily depends on where you buy... Blaze King well around us there are not to many dealers for them. Id love to get a good look at the Ashford up close but nobody has it yet.
