    I said when I was back in upstate NY , Columbia County, I would take a picture their big black locust trees. I couldn't get to the really big one without trespassing on some city guy's property.

    They can definitely get big. This is one i saw and measured awhile back. Its 5'5" (65") across at the base.

    You know its a big Locust when even the furrows have furrows! I passed through just south of Columbia county NY back in March and couldn't believe the amount of Locust growing in that area. It seemed anywhere there was a farmer's field sure enough there was a line of Locust growing, some HUGE ones too.

    Ill use his axe to fell it then! Actually that is such a cool tree i wouldnt cut it down. Tempting as it is.
