This old (>130 yr) northern red oak tree tipped over after the last storm. The combination of ultra wet, soggy ground and high winds was just too much. I got 2 clean logs at 10'6" long and ~30" diameter. I could have gotten two 12-footers, but they would have been too heavy for my equipment. My MMWS 462 and MMWS 395XP made easy work of bucking these logs. They should make some awesome, quartersawn lumber and there will be PLENTY of firewood 20250531_132049.jpg 20250531_132029.jpg 20250606_122146.jpg .

Mike, will that tree that fell across your driveway be going for lumber too?

Yes. I'll probably bring the newest one up when I pick up the sawn lumber from the first one.
