I haven't posted on here for a bit but I've checked in from time to time. Today I got some time and felled two large standing dead cherry trees. They both are nice looking, solid trees. Sectioned them up and hauled them to my splitting and stacking area. It felt good to be back bringing in firewood. I get a lot of satisfaction from processing firewood.
Welcome back.. Still a great place to hang out. Lots of , andgoing on. Remember your hip boots cause it can get pretty deep here also.
Sorry, but I don't have any pictures. I rarely have my iPhone with me when I'm getting firewood. I live on a small farm (about 45 acres) with about half wooded. I'm really never that far from the house when I'm working in the woods. I reckon I'll have to take my phone with me in the future so I can have some pics to share here.
I find it's a "must" even in the backyard! What a mess! Behind the splitter on the ground is some 19% MC standing dead locust, split yesterday and today, along with some pecan and hickory to the left and back of the splitter. Some locust limbs in the bucker to be sawn up, too. Always have my phone on me in case Honey needs to be texted to bring me a drink once I've cut the splitter off! 2nd bin in the shed is still empty- waiting to be refilled from the solar kiln... I'm a little behind, to say the least....
I saw your numbers on your thread- does your overall total include the stack between the trees by your trailer?
No, that's part of my buddies stacks. I haul from his woods and my woods to his back yard, where the splitter is typically. My cutting woods is about a mile away from his house, and his dad's 24 acres is only 3 houses away. All of those places are about a half hour from my house.
Gotcha... Any race events you mite be interested in out this way? so you can stop by and help me finish up
I'm down for a half case race. Loser has to clean up the splitter chaff. The wife and I will be in Indianapolis in early August. One of these days we'll do a road trip to the east central coast. NC to swim with sharks, never been to WV, or Virginia, but VIR is a great track.
Come on, man- you'll love this part of the country, without a doubt... 1/2 case race? Guess I'll clean up the chaff
Horkn -You and yours WILL love it here-come on down-between me and Eric VW - we will guarantee a good time, prob tying one on, lusting over wood and women... "I spent most of my money on beer and women, the rest I just wasted"....circa IDK and to whom IDC-its the TRUTH!
