Looks like winter is about to sock most of the country with seriously cold temps. Might be time to do a stove and chimney cleanout, inspect the gaskets, go get cold beer...

Don't forget to fill the fridge with food and beer. Dry firewood, food and beer are a lethal counter punch to cold weather.

I checked and cleaned my stovepipe and thimble this past Monday. Something I do every year about this time. Bring it on!

Beer is a lethal counter punch to hot and cold weather.

Cold weather is a great time for some dark beers like porter and stout!

Calling for 1/2” to an 1” of ice and freezing rain locally then transitioning to snow.
No stove work but changed the oil and fuel filters on the welder generator, oil and spark plug for the inverter generator, oil and filter on UTV. Fueled up the truck, tractors and all my gas/diesel tanks. Picked up an extra gallon of bar oil, wife got groceries. Should be ready unless I am forgetting something.

I typically sweep every other or third year. When I do I only get about a 12oz pile of black stuff. Being 5+ years ahead on wood has its advantages. :dex: For me, it’s just time to throttle up. :smoke:

We are on call 24/7, since I own the business and am closer than everyone else I usually give my employees the option of not coming in.
