Anyone else got a split stealing/chewing dog like I do? I can't seem to get a picture of him with a split of wood, whenever I get close to him he takes off, haha. This is my buddy The Tank, the 5 year old Boxer.

Up until last Summer. My buddy Oscar was in every other pic I took. Especially if it had to deal with wood and he thought I might throw a stick for him :)

He left us last Summer.. Best damm dog I ever had. Still looking for a replacement.

    I've got a crew.

This one's always with me, and can do just about anything you ask, except not bark. She does get beer out of the fridge though, and shuts the door behind her if she pushes her way in....

This is Pearl. She runs the perimeter of the property nightly, guarding the sheep...

We added this little guy to the family last winter. This is Waylon, he's a little outlaw...

He does a great job of occupying Roo, thankfully.

The only one we still have is the one in the middle. Big Boy.
His dad is the one on the left, and the one on the right is in another home now with a mom and her young son in the U.P.

Gavin(choc) and GiGi (black). Went through the process of rescue ing Gavin and could not leave GiGi. She was the last one. It's a tough life for them. But hey, someone's gotta do it. Right?

Otis is the Rott, Hailey is the St bernard mix. Hailey has had kidney failure for about six months now, took her for her check up yesterday not good. The blood work was off the charts, Dr. says only a few days left.

Theres Miss Molly the wood pile thief. Apparently she has been taking splits off of the pile for a couple weeks now and laying in the yard chewing on them. I thought it was some critter playing on the pile at night and just knocking them off but the wife caught her doing it the other day.

    IMG_5301.JPG

Sam doesnt have anything to do with the wood processing but he likes to reap all of the benefits.

Never say never mattjm1017, my lab mixes like to chew on the splits as well. The slab wood has lots of pieces that are cut-offs from rough cut lumber that are just the right size to chew on, wrestle over, etc. etc.

That is hard thing to have go through loosing a GSD. You can't ever replace a GSD you can only raise another one.

IMHO GSD's are the best dogs ever bred. You have to be committed to spending the necessary time with them that they need but you will be rewarded handsomely with their loyalty and and willingness to protect you no matter what the price.

Here is my boy Stuart guarding my side of the bed
    [IMG]

Don't let his causal demeanor fool you he can and will take care of business if he needs to. My neighbor found out the hard way that you don't just walk into my garage without knocking first. he backed him right out the door he started to come in.

Here he is at 4 months old. Look at the intensity in his eyes while I am training him
