I must have gotten a little over zealous on my noodling yesterday. The lower tooth on the left side was bent perpendicular to the others. I will just bend it back, but I'm not sure how I managed that.

Bending the dog on a 441 took a little force :) I'm wondering how you did it myself?

On a new 362 with the new stamped dog? I might see it happening.

    Got any pics?

I'll post 'em on Monday. I think I was noodling, and a log got pulled by the chain hard against the saw. It's bent alright. :D

Just don't try to bend it back with the dog still on the saw. Broke the upper mount right off on my 460. Only have the outer dog now.

As stated above, remove the dog from the saw before attempting to straighten it.

I've seen some really bad bent up dawgs by firewood cutters. Most are dogging in and using dawgs to force chain through a cut with very dull chain.

Not saying you. Just what I see on firewood guys saws I take care of.

I'm probably guilty. My chain was not ultra sharp after 2 hours of cutting, but I don't know.

I'd like more aggressive dogs anyways. Where can I buy aftermarket?

For the 441? The set in the 261/362 is the same set.

I can post up the part number later.

I have a small dual set on my 441 and 362.

I tried the big thick aftermarket dawgs. Unless your felling trees with THICK bark they are way overkill JMO. I went back to stock dawgs and bought small dawgs for saws that had big oem dawgs, except for the 084 3120.

I thought the kit I got for my 362 was the same? It may still fit, but the 362 needs a new inner spike. I just added an outer spike to the 441. I had a 2nd one and gave it to Mastermind for his 441C-M.

All the outer spike has on it is 1117-B.

But the spike kit for the 362 is for both spikes and has the chain catch (1135-650-7750) . I know the outer spike will work, because the 261, 362, and 441 all use the same outer clutch cover. But the inside spike may be different because of the mounting holes? I don't have my 362 here to compare, but someone should know.

The back end of my clutch cover is cracked from a chain hitting it with force when it came off. The clutch cover aftermarket is $17, so I'm going to use the stock one until it gets too bad and then replace it too.

Metals406 had some made for most stihl saws. I'll check with him and see if he has any left to fit a 441. I run them on most of my stills and some will be coming for my huskies soon.

I have the dual small spikes on my 441 like Dex's and would like to have something with the roller catcher in between the smalls and the west coast style for size. If I get ambitious, maybe I'll see if the MS362 spikes I have on my 261 will fit the 441.

Those aren't stock size? That is about what I have on both my Stihls. They are Stihl parts that came on the saws when I bought them. 1122 664 0508 (inner) and 1122 664 0503 (outer)

Those are the huge 5 point pro safety spikes. I prefer the 4 point style best.

No they arent stock size or stihl, like I said. I was showing the big thick aftermarket dawgs in pic. I didnt even like the big oem dawgs. So I went with the smaller oem ones.
