Some of what a buddy and me got done yesterday, he almost took out a femoral, chaps stopped that and he didn't even get the saw clogged with fiber, came back with a new pair + a Forester hookaroon and then broke that (handle grain wasn't great and painted over a bit) Also got a gal of 50:1 returned to menards that I bought back in October, pretty sure someone scammed them out of that mix, it smelled like paint thinner and it was clear. That's how real gasoline used to smell! Not that skunky crap they sell now. Many of those 50:1 canned fuels use oil without any dye, The Sunoco 50:1 was clear. And stabilizers do nothing in any fuel let alone canned. Canned fuel will last at least two year after opening, three to five unopened. Anyway nice pile you've got going there!

I keep my trusty little splitter vertical 100% of the time. If the rounds get too large I rip cut them in half or quarters.
Look on the positive side, not the negative. He didn't die, he didn't bleed to death, he didn't lose a limb because he was smart enough to be wearing chaps...unlike all the macho men out there who think their skin is made of steel or think they have super human reflexes and can get out of the way in time..........wrong. This knucklehead used a chainsaw on a ladder and fell 3m and bled to death after cutting his arm. Seems like he didn't do his homework on chainsaw safety and he had purchased the chainsaw earlier that day. Smh. One article I saw said he had yelled out to his wife and said "Look how straight I did it!" and that's when he fell.....And other articles use the headline "Freak accident...." That was not a freak accident. That was a 100% completely avoidable accident. Exactly! I bought the cheapest $50 Husky helmet at Lowe's when I first got a chainsaw. The visor sucked. The ear piece kept popping off after a few months and was seriously a danger to use as you can't have your damm helmet spin off mid cut.......so I bought a Pfanner Protos and said "I like my head.......works pretty well.......and it's worth $300 to me to keep it that way."

I like the visor on the Protos because it's a very fine mesh so you can see very clearly out of it. It has saved me countless times from flying chunks of wood and branches and it will also save your entire face should you encounter a nasty kickback situation. It also has a vent in the rear that you can open and close. I leave it open.
