    Hello All,

I will still keep my 2-stroke weedwacker for the 2-3 times a year I do a larger clean up along yard/road. Does anyone have any recommendations for a battery weed wacker for the weekly maintenance clean up, I have about 1.5 acres of manicured lawn / rest is forest. Generally I would prefer just making less noise and I tend to get myself a new yard toy each spring. I already own a battery and charger for my dewalt hedge trimmer, so would appreciate any experiences with the dewalt weed wacker.

    thanks!

The dewalt ones seem decent from what I’ve seen, where my wife works sells a ton of them and the chainsaws also.

    I have the dewalt 20v.

Sure is nice. It is stored in the garage all year (below zero temps in winter). Don't remember if it is brushless motor.

Our properties sound about the same; my lawn is larger so there is more trimming to be done. I do not trim every time I cut grass though.

It is nice to just be able to take it off the hanger, slap a battery in it and we're off to the races. No mixing of fuel; no storing of fuel; no pouring of fuel; no exhaust smell; no wondering if it will start or not; etc etc

I also have the Dewalt and I am satisfied. My main recommendation is stay with the battery charger you have now to keep it simple. Most brands are very close these days. The other positive is being all you do is plug in a battery and go, also very quiet, the wife likes to trim now. "She" also has the blower so she will do that also.

Have had a Worx elec trimmer for 8 years now. I had 0 % confidence it would last a week. It's never failed. We bought an extra battery too, but usually can do all of the trimming here on just one.

Since I own many DeWalt 20v tools I opted for their weed whacker too, but the motor burnt out on the first two after only a few uses. Store replaced them and the only time I can bad mouth a Dewalt tool as I've been using them since 1993. The current one seems to be holding up and does well for what I need it around here. Not sure of the model. Ill check later and report back. I also have the blower, pole saw, and chain saw which I've had no issues with.

I got a Stihl last year on a big sale. I like it a lot! Makes me want a battery powered chainsaw.

    I've had 2 of the M18 units.

First one was fine but I replaced it because you can step up to a quick-lok model that allows you to run a pole saw, hedge trimmer, brush cutter. That one gets a ton of use. My one complaint is for some reason the weed eater spits grass at me. Only had milwaukee units do that.
