More rains to the tune of at least three inches here. Just what I didn't need. Currently under flood warnings and tornado warnings and heavy rains on the way. If you are in this area and south, prepare just in case; have a torch handy and a place to go for shelter. For me, that means heading down under the house in the little basement. Winds are starting to blow now and the ground is saturated with water. Take care.
Be careful if your heading into your basement with a torch....don't want the whole thing going up! I know she means flashlight....
Yes, stay safe, make a plan if you think you will be at risk. We are going to get more heavy rain starting tomorrow night and into Friday. The Kennebec River is already at peak flow today. No idea where that rain water will do. Glad we live on the side of a hill.
Tornado warning has been lifted. There will be flooding in areas but I am on a hillside. I went down to the little valley, it is so wet down there I don't know when I will be able to work in that garden. Thanks everyone for caring; big hugs.
That is a good idea. I did have a radio with a weather band. I need to get batteries. When the power goes off, you need something battery powered.
Found some good prices on Delco batteries at Roses. I need to get more D cells; Dollar Store don't seem to have them in alkaline. I also have a multiband radio that takes several C cells.
Things are OK here but NC had several tornadoes; I think reported 4 dead including a toddler that later died at hospital. I need to put together a kit that I can quickly grab and head for cover. My sister stayed in an old single wide trailer during the storms; that was not a good idea; that trailer has sticks for wall studs and would have been torn to shreds. I saw one photo where a trailer was flipped over upside down; and houses just demolished. The worst tornado that I saw reported was EF2.
