Bad News from the Dr Yesterday

    After I had my logging accident in March, the CAT Scan from my concussion revealed I had other issues going on too. There was damage to my Pituitary Gland, but also a growth on my Thyroid. The Dr's did not think it was a big deal so I did not think it was a big deal, but finally further testing revealed I got (6) big tumors which are affecting my swallowing and voice.

    No one wants to hear their Doctor say cancer, but while this is a rather oxy-moron; I guess if a person has to get cancer, Thyroid Cancer is not that bad. It has a very low death rate since they can just slit my throat and take out my Thyroid and Lymph Nodes. No big deal by the sounds...

    As for the reason...as close as we can tell it came from 25 years of welding where my welds were tested by x-ray. No real precautions taken but to stand back while they took their pictures. Years of that radiation exposure just accumulated I think.

    It kind of sucks, but Katie took it well which is good.

    Prayers sent your way, my cousin had this surgery about three weeks ago, would not even know he had it done except for the slit on his throat. IIRC it was about ten hours.
