One year ago plus a day I started filling this pen. Sold it this fall. Facebook just informed me of the photos I posted last year. Stranger things have happened.

Grizzly bars are working ok so far. Seem to like the bigger rounds so there’s four splits running at a time. Keeps things going straight. Ran a little less than half cord through it. We shall see how time treats them.

    Last year.

    Hatcharoon. :)
Funny just last Friday I walked into my regular dinner spot and another regular greeted me with that Hendrix line. Young waitress got a little flustered. She thought I had a gun :) she didn’t even know who Hendrix was LOL. I think I’ll start calling her Dolly.

Their job is to shed splitter waste. Usually there’s a set at the top of the conveyor with a chute to kick the crap back towards the splitter area. Conveyor only reaches about 12’ high and I use every inch of that. No extra height for bars there. So I thought I’d try a set before the conveyor.
Splitting fresh green wood mostly except for those white oak rounds with punk so there’s less crappola.

I have a Yard Glide ordered. Hoping I drive right over the top with the splitter and then just pull all the waste into the trails and flip it over. We shall see how that works too.

So Jo.... after seeing and working in your operation, how did the wood in the sold pen get moved? Did the buyer have a bucket loader of sorts, to assist in loading the splits into a truck and/or trailer?

I just reverse the conveyor, park a trailer under it and flip it on the conveyor by hand.

Yes sir, especially if it's coming off the splitter...split a pile, then stack, repeat...

yep, burn some gas and save the elbows and shoulders for something else.
How much does your trailer hold, tossed, stacked?
