with the miller lite in the background. Keep tellin myself....ya got enough..then ...no ya dont...yes you do....no ya dont...soooo...i let the miller lite make the decision...guess what....NO I DONT HAVE ENOUGH..........WOOD
I really like your setup! I was thinking earlier before I saw your pic.... wouldn't it be nice to have a wood shed like that on trolley wheels and just whisk the whole thing into the house to your wood burner? If I build another house consider this a priority...
I know it would be nice for us to have our firewood really convenient...maybe later. It helps me when i think how our great forefathers trudged thru the snow n such to bring in wood. If weather is bad enough..we have room for several days of wood storage..
Your storage is awesome. I just always hated freezing the house over carrying in enough wood for a couple days. A friend of mine built a wood box into his wall from his porch, load it on the outside and grab it from the inside. It was a nice touch.
We've been putting painter tarps down on jobsites for years to catch sawdust, we've got some very fancy folk in this area. First time I've seen it under a splitter though...
The way i figure...it takes less than 2 minutes to put it down n about 10 min. to clean the junk up n fold them back up. I guess i get it from my mom...she was a clean freak...
That's why we do it on jobsites as well. The clean up is much faster. You know I'm ribbing you, right?
Yes....i know just about everybody gets a kick out of it...my friends shake there heads when they first saw it. Just wait...in a couple of weeks ill get the wife to take some pics while im pullin the cyclone rake around the driveway...
You have a good operation going there so don't let anyone tell you differently. I really like the wood sheds in back.
I think I'd spend an embarrassing amount of time sitting in a lawn chair and staring at those packed sheds after the work is done if I had 'em. Looking good, bear. I've used the tarp trick to ease cleanup when I'm doing a bunch of punky stuff or pine, which always seems to leave a whole lot of extra "chaff" and bark behind.
Between th pair of them.....theres between 5 1/2 to 6 cords of red n chestnut oak in them. I pulled some random peices n split them a few weeks ago ...when it was still warm n they averaged about 20% moisture. I was really surprised it was that low cause im not burnin it until 20/21. It was css september a year ago...
