I haven't done much firewood stuff lately. I got really sick a few weeks ago and ended up in the hospital. Couldn't do much physical activity for a few weeks. I'm finally feeling back to normal again! Got some wood on the front porch again! Mix of green and white ash this time. Not my prettiest stack, but between me, my BIL, and his brother, we had it done in an hour. Spent the rest of the weekend helping my BIL with his supply. I found him a mixed bag of standing dead or mostly off the ground stuff - white ash, American elm, Norway maple, and a little black locust. We cut a jumbo load Saturday. Probably a cord of stuff that was all accessible from the road. Got that all cut and split this morning. We left the all in his back yard and went back in for another load - same mix. No pics though so you'll have to take my word for it... About 1/2 the size of the first one. We pulled that one right up to the house, split it and tossed it into his Bilco doorway to his basement. I've got him on board with the dry wood idea. He's been able to tell the difference between the stuff he was burning and the stuff I've been finding for him.
