    Hello

This is a 1995 Jamestown J2000 FS pellet stove. I replaced the vacuum switch and the auger still does not keep running after starting the fire with the gel. No igniter.

This auger cutoff switch seems to be faulty. Do the newer stoves have this switch?

    Is it worth keeping?

Newer ones dropped it.It detects auger jams and turns off motor. The motor you put in would probably eat through jams that would ruin old motor.Reccomend bypass.

    Thanks Bob
    I really appreciate your comments.
I did bypass it and the stove works good now!

The board in my old analog St Croix is bad and Istays running until it's out of fuel. can't shut down the stove… I'm thinking a shut off toggle switch would fix that.

I'd add 2....one to shut off the auger first, and then after coals are gone, switch off main power.

Krooser those old boards are very repairable(mostly). If you have ever done any older style pc board work,I could give you a few hints. Also many of those boards were used in other stoves(reliant, breckwel etc) and joe fixes them and is probably the cheapest.Just take picture of front of board and email to him with what is wrong,he will tell you if fixable.Link---http://www.pelletstoverepair.com/

There are a few outfits that will repair boards but a) it seems they never return emails or don't answer their phone or b) they don't work on St Croix boards.

I took my board to two different locals who do electronic stuff and all I got was blank stares. I can get those from my wife without paying for gas.

I'll try again during the off season. Thanks.

It pretty much takes an old timer tv repair person to touch these, and not many around.Joe is good to deal with, most austroflamm boards go to him for repair, from other shops.Because of so many different boards back then is why I reccomended picture. But you are right, wait till after season.
