Went to a local auction Saturday. Wife had to have this copper cauldron. Wasn't exactly thrilled until my buddy said we'll be making apple butter with it this fall....all about it now.
Yeah very heavy and old to boot. I started pricing them on the web and didn't feel as bad as when she ran it up to the final bid.
They had 2 cast iron that size that some lady paid 350 a piece for. Probably going to fill them with dirt and flowers to rot the bottoms
What I'd like know is.... how much did the caldron cost, versus much is a "song" when talking fishing lures? Btw, that's a cool copper pot.
My grandparents had one like that...actually, I remember it being larger, that they made apple butter in it when I was a kid...rumor has it that after grandpa passed one of my "ne'er-do-well" cousins (or one of his dirt bag buddies) made off with it...for scrap!
04 I believe. Just needs buttoned up. Rebuilt the carb. Needs battery, tires, and plastic put back on.
Good. I don't like the stuff but my wife loved it. She always cooked it on the wood stove. I don't remember if the picture was making apple sauce or apple butter.
