Wisconsin's deer gun season started today. I sat for an hour and a half in my woods then this guy came by @ 30 yards. So my ATV wood hauler trailer was put to good use. Hopefully my son will get his buck tonight or Sunday morn then we can cut 'em both up at the same time. He is 9 points and has a 15 inch inside spread. Saw 15 does and fawns before he came by with his nose on the ground,,,
I am truly blessed to own the property we do. It has provided timber, mushrooms, deer, and turkeys ever since we bought it. I took this guy 3 years ago with a Ruger No. 1 International in 270 Win from the same tree stand. Todays buck was harvested with a Remington Model 673 in 350 Rem Mag. A very good under-the-radar woods round
My phone has been blowing up All these were shot in my township by neighbors. The general consensus is the rut is starting to wind down. This guy is a former co worker. He got his buck at noon today about 3 miles north of our 40 and this buck is a dandy,,,
Excellent deer ole! Both of them! And that last one in the bottom pic is a stud too, big neck on that guy
Put my Obannon to use today. Got home from work, dressed out and clambered up a tree. Freezer meat. I didn’t have a helper so this trailer with a ramp tailgate did the trick.
So today was the last day of Wisconsin's 9 day gun deer season. About 2 pm I went for my daily walk and lo and behold I walked right past a decent 8 pointer. Twice. He was parked in the neighbor's woods with a hot doe about 8 yards from the edge of the black top county road. They let me walk past twice but the second time I whipped my phonecam out. If you squint real hard you just might spot him, the doe was behind the big oak,,, He wasn't going anywhere she wasn't I hope he survived the last three hours he will be bigger next year.
Nice work ole! Looks like it's time to refill the Copenhagen dispenser. It's never good when you run out
