Anyone using this? Or know anyone using it? AT&T Wireless Home Phone & Internet I need a better internet than I currently am using (tethering on my cellphone), and wonder how well it works. Cellphone or satellite Internet are my only options, and i am very reluctant to try hughesnet. Anyone want to give me a review?
Used it for a couple years, works as advertised. Not sure what you mean by "better", it still relies on the same cell signal you can get through your phone. I don't think it is going to be any faster than tethering your phone, actually I think it will be a touch slower. We stopped using it to save the extra monthly connection fee, it does get you another phone line though. We finally had a cable line built to the house so we don't have to use cell internet anymore. I still have the device, happy to throw it in the mail if you want it.
I can't comment on the service cuz I use the att uverse internet. The customer service however, is freaking terrible. Once your contract is up, they dayum near double your price and you have to call back to renegotiate. They will not remove any additional charges. This process takes an hour and you will want to choke someone when you are done. Nevermind the hair you pulled out while on the phone. Best advice, Mark your calendar and call to renegotiate on the last day of your contract.
"Better" in my case means a legit connection. I am using a bootleg connection method right now that sorta works, but crashes regularly - like every minute sometimes, sometimes every hour or so. I have a moderately good AT&T signal though. Sending PM about your unit. Thanks for the offer!
Yes, I am quite familiar with the cable dance. I review / renegotiate every contract I have every couple of years - house, auto and life insurance, cell phones, cable internet (previous residence), credit cards, bank fees, etc. It can save you some serious coin if you do it well.
Dave, I sent you a PM a few days ago, perhaps you missed it? I am interested in this offer, if it still stands.
Yeah, sorry man, life got busy all of a sudden and the thing wasn't where I thought I put it, I found it, I'll drop it in the mail next week.
No problem my friend. I actually won't be able to try it until early July anyway, so no rush. Let me know the cost by PM. Thanks!
Why must we do this??? My time is worth $$ to me and I HATE whining/threatening for a "deal" that they'll hand out to new customers for nothing. Some of these services are necessary evils in today's world but I happily told my last Satellite TV provider where to go and how to get there when they refused to renegotiate my service contract after two years. Haven't missed their service anyways. Relatively little content of interest on TV these days anyways. If you like sports, I can see the desire, but I don't have anything more than the occasional casual interest in sports.
