I had grand plans of making a reducer setup with a Fernco fitting and some pvc for my ash vac. The big box store didn’t have all the parts I needed and it was still around $12-$15 with the few parts I did have. I then found a precut section of 1” PVC for a few bucks. Fit good enough into the vac hose and still pulls the ash out from the tighter ares of the stove. Live and learn!

I remove the back panel each cleaning instead of using the access holes, very easy to lift that piece out and then slide a bottle brush under the tubes and get a lot more ash out.

Here's an oldie, but a goodie. Some years back('12, '13???), a discussion was going on about how to get a vacuum into the nooks & crannies. Member nailed_nailer graciously offered to make some of these for anyone who asked. I used mine a LOT. Wood part was done on a lathe:

Give him a shout....I'm sure he still has the lathe. IIRC, he wouldn't take any $$ for it.

I do as well! I think a lot ash gets down in the areas behind the ash access holes. I use a paint brush to get rid of the ash and let it fall. The ash vac is there too keep the dust contained. My weekly clean is pretty comprehensive. ; )

Geeze, that is a moldy oldey post, lol

I must have made 30 of Vac reducers those back then.
Think I still have some stiff plastic tubing and could make a few more if anyone wants one.

My stoves do not require a hose thingy, but many years ago figured out the pvc pipe and duct tape thing,to reach underneath and clean my refrig coils/bottom. Also figured out to use cheep masking tape,as I did not need it permanent, easy to remove. We used to to to the same thing, cleaning between the radiator and condenser,on cars and trucks, for many years.

nailed_nailer ...If you do make a few, I will take one also...I believe you will need the diameter of the shop vac hose, I will get that and send you a PM with address. Round up the number for shipping and send me your addy and I will get some cash in an envelope and send it your way. If you have a paypal account we can do it that way also. Thanks
