This wood has been stacked outside for several years and is probably as bad as it gets. Once dry, I expect it to burn like paper but I will try to steal whatever btus are left. If I didn’t have lots of storage space I probably wouldn’t bother with it. I hate to waste it. I’ll load good wood in the other shed and mix it in a little at a time. Same here. Hate to waste any wood. I had a few dozen sugar maple rounds get to just before the punky stage. Some of them split like garbage. The good splits that are really light will get mixed in with good stuff, and the pieces that split awkward go to the fire pit. One day I will learn to get my scores split within a year.
