FYI- PSA has Colt 6920s for $799 right now! Colt is THE gold standard (mil spec whereas Rock River, DPMS, Olympic, Wyndham, Bushmaster, etc. mostly are NOT) and this price is about the lowest in the mil spec production market! Scoop one up, they won't last!
Arsenal Inc. is the best option for AKs. The century imports, etc. can be serviceable, but there's things to look for to make sure you're getting a good one.
I have a romanian WASR10. Was a ban era model so it was single stack. It may or may not be modified to accept double. And it deffinitly has enough american parts on it to qualify ;-) Certain mags fit better than others. Bit for the $150 I have in it I cant complain.
If I even look at picking up a new gun and the wife finds out, I'll be staring at the wrong end of something I already own.
Since when are bushmaster and wyndham not mil spec, unless you are talking about the carbon 15 models. Still a great price on the 6920's. Arsenal INC (US, las vegas) is all american made stamped receivers, some bulgarian barrels, some us barrels, us parts kits The old milled and stamp arsenals from bulgaria were the good ones, 100% bulgariun guns with 922 plastic on them. not the same company, not affiliated with each other. The best AK on the market right now is the Centrurion 100% US made for 599

Upon further inspection, it appears Windham is now offering 4150cmv bbls... albeit in 1/9. They've presented with improper chamber specs and gas port sizes, but only on occasion. For the money, I'd pass.
We went with the WASR too but ours will accept the 30rd mag and the 75rd drum. That sucker is mighty heavy with a fully loaded drum.
After the ban they made them all double stack. During the ban the single stacks were cheaper cause of the parts that had to be added or something?? Also the capacity thing?
Colt is obviously top name on Ar's, but on my last deployments I carried the armorlite version of the M4. No problems of any kind. There were a few colt versions being used and they didn't always go bang when you needed it to. But, how the weapon is maintained has a high percentage of the total outcome. That is a great price for a colt! Bushmaster has their ORC for $553. This is another good price and in my opinion just as good as a colt.
