Haven't found it locally. The M72 LPX is suposed to be a good chisel chain for cutting in dirty conditons. Haven't had any luck so far, online or local finding an Oregon dealer selling it. looking for M72LPX72 .050 X 3/8 X 20" (72 DL ) Be nice to know the $ Price.
Read about this chain too but can't find it either. Carbide impregnated Claims are , to stay sharp longer & last 5 to 10 time longer life than chromed cutters. Company somewhere in PA. http://www.lasersales.org/newsite/newproductpage.htm Catalogue won't open for me.
Carbide might stay sharp longer, but my understanding is it's awful slow regardless. Wouldn't mind having a loop to try but almost all of what I cut is pretty clean.
Based on the Diagram, they are referring to cutting in wood. I am curious now as well. Gonna have tondo some research
Saw shop here sells it. Was gonna buy a loop but have 6 new loops of Oregon LPX to go thru first. He said several wood sellers buy it & say its stay sharp better than the other chains. Not carbide, carbide impregnated. Full chisel. Says you can hand file it. Should give it a go just to see. Around $40 a loop for 20". The Oregon Multicut , heavy duty chromed, another one that might work for my type cutting. Not found a supplier yet. Might just be commercial use.
$40 a loop I might be tempted to try one too. Actual carbide chain is far more expensive than that however.
Yea, can't get on the web site without a dealer password, but the laser chain is not carbide tipped cutters. The carbide specialty chain is expensive. Like the Stihl Duro 3. Don't think Laser stuff this is the same .
Oregon chain is all I have used in quite a while, but then, it's what the saw places sell here in Maine. At least, where I've been. Have no idea if there's a better brand. A laser saw would be nice… no waste, cut those widow makers from a safe distance, limb out the entire tree from the seat of your rig, add computer control and slice and dice an entire tree in 2-3 seconds… of course, at any stove length you want… OK… I'll stop now…
68 DL Here http://www.shforestrysupplies.com/advancedwebpage.aspx?cg=636&cd=5&SBCatPage= Maybe if you contact them they can get you some 72 DL
Never heard of M72LPX... I just run semi chisel in dirty, dry, or dead wood. Works much mo better than chisel...
Mite try masdens Dave...i believe i bought 2 loops of square fer $30...also i just looked up carbide impregnated...cutters choice has them for .46 a DL..$33 for a 20" 72DL loop...i mite try one..
No Changed my cutting technique, I drop, limb & buck in the woods now, much cleaner LPX stays sharp a long time, no skidding thru mud/dirt now
That is what I do Dave. All cutting done in woods. If I pull a log out it is when there is enough snow on the ground and the ground is frozen.
