I need to blast two large pieces for a horizontal band saw, base is about 150 lbs and the other piece around 100 lbs, to heavy and long for a blast cabinet (60") I'd use it for a Ford tractor resto also. Would need to rent the 185 cfm compressor as needed. I want something that works all the time, I'm watching slurry blasting video's also. Local blasting shop has a two week wait time. Compressor rental is less then 1/4 mile from my shop. Play $135 an hour and do nothing or equipment for the shop? I'm looking at this; Clemco 2 bag sandblaster pot, hood, hose, air cooler and air purifier. I have had for 4 years and never seem to use it .. It is in good condition and all there asking $1900 OBO .
It looks like an older unit, but seems everything is there, even shields. Do you have a decent compressor? These are great to rent out as well for blasting log homes etc Definitely test run it, is he including any grit, aluminum oxide, glass bead, corn cob, or walnut shell? http://precisionfinishinginc.com/ sells everything you need for clemco products.
No media was mentioned, my shop compressor is a 5 hp Champion 3 phase with an 80 & 60 gallon tank set up. What about a pressure washer with the media nozzle set up?
Pressure washer? Ceramic- these work well but will break down after awhile or tungsten carbide nozzle, there are many choices, like wide spray etc. CLEMCO Products | Clemco Industries Corp. Depending on how your finishing, anodized, powder coating, etc depends on the type of media you'll want to get. Another thought is to buy the thick rubber and leave the blast cabinet door open. Hook up a hoist?
I'm not as familiar with wet blasting, I think garnet is used for that. Sand has been found very dangerous when inhaled after it's broken down in the blasting process.
