Came across this on the web and wondered if anybody had any experience with them. Looked like a handy way to shed an outer layer of punky wood. Or bark on some timber projects I’m thinking off. Seems like it bolts to the bar and you run a slightly longer chain.

Never have seen one in use but looks like a handy thing to have.

I bought one of those years ago when I was running my Wood-Mizer sawmill. Didn't have a debarker on the mill so this was the next-best thing for frozen, muddy pine bark. It worked, used Makita 3-1/4"" planer blades as replacements. I still have it, in case I ever get another mill.

It is certainly "diyarea" producing if you're not careful! Mine is a "Log Wizard", they are still being sold new.

I think a draw knife would be more effective and less expensive.

I have the log wizard version, works pretty well.
They are very effective but kinda slow.
Definitely worth having if you run a sawmill.
