I picked up a new brand of all beef franks for lunch, can't wait. Going to dig in the deep freeze and find something we can do for supper.

Dollar General's generic brand. Was OK, but not nearly as good as other brands.

Pork chops with my custom rub, seared and then I parted the coals to prevent flareups while they cook. Asapargus is on standby.

My burger was so good I at the whole thing, too full now to post the pic now but it was delicious, the pellet grill did a great job! Oh, and Blondie managed to steal one pattie and lick the cheese off another pattie:headbang:

The little one was talking about how good the pork chop was and how pork chops she has elsewhere never taste that good. So we explained cooking over wood to her.

Nope, I cheated on it a lot by using premixed spices, by I was almost out of my Memphis mix.

4 parts dollar tree Memphis spice mix
4 parts dollar general meat tenderizer
3 parts carne asada seasoning mix
    2 parts garlic powdered

Grizzly Adam I was impressed when I saw the Victoria day banner on the site. Thanks. Ive never cooked over wood before outside of all the camping cooking I do. It sure makes the food taste good. Ive only tried it with spruce and pine since thats what we have for fire pit camping trips. Looks like you have the wood right in your bbq. I think I should start doing that. Those chops and asparagus look great. I was thinking of getting out the Bradley smoker and doing up some ribs or a chicken but we will see. Its cold and wet here this weekend so I may just throw some prime rib steaks on the gas bbq. That in itself will be a real treat for us as beef is very expensive, at least in BC.

We just split our shorties real small and use them for grilling. Better than trying to stack the buggers, and I don't run out of grill fuel.

Nice. I was just thinking. Hard wood is in real short supply around here but I picked up some short branches of apple last month that Ive been drying. Maybe I should have some fun with them and not burn them in the stove but use them in my fire pit in the back yard for cooking. Funny Ive never thought to cook over the house pit before like I do out camping.

I need to trim up the plum trees in a couple weeks, after I'm sure they haven't fruited. All the trimmings will go into the smoke pile. Got a couple peach trees that didnt make it, guess I will do the same there. Couple new ones to play with.
