A number of our blue spruce are suffering from some kind of rust (or something) that is killing all the old needles. A couple neighbors have already started removing some of their trees, I may be doing the same as well. Just curious if they are worth processing for firewood. I have plenty of other firewood options, but would like to get some use out of them.

I had a small one in my yard that I cut down a few years ago because it was next to the driveway and always dropping crap on the vehicles, I CSS and burned it with the rest of my wood, its down fairly low on the btu scale but will make good kindling or just mix it in with your other stuff

I agree with the elder, I'm sure it would make good shoulder season wood.

it works well for me, prolly 90%, of what I burn is spruce, I heat entirely with wood
