Anyone in FHC into beekeeping or have hives? I've been trying to convince my wife to let me have a hive or two. If your into it what's your thoughts or your experiences and tips?

I set up my empty hives last weekend, and I get my bees in a couple of weeks. I have done a lot of reading and took classes, and am in a club. I am looking forward to it. Soon.

2 hives (4 deep boxes) and bees ($130 per package), tools, bee suit - I am in it about $700 I guess. I feel I shopped carefully, bought good quality, but bought all new stuff. I have some used stuff that I got free as well.

You might get in for less. Or more.
