Have others taken notice how much daylight time we've lost already? I know I usually really notice this right after Labor Day. But I'm especially noticing it now in the mornings.

I'm ready! Not so much the loss of daylight as the cooler air.

    Fall? Bring it on.

Not that I want to rush things, but fall gets us closer to the end of 2020.

My work day starts at 6am so I definitely notice the difference. I’m definitely looking forward to cooler temps. We have had abnormally wet and stormy conditions in NW NC. I live in the woods and trees keep falling, but it’s been too hot/wet to deal with them.

I'm not anxious for summer to come to an end, and the loss of day light, but I am anxious to have cooler weather. Those long stretches of hot air are suffocating.

I've been seeing signs of it lately. Probably due to the extreme heat/drought, but the leaves on the white birches in my area have turned yellow. Just this week I noticed some of the maples starting to turn too. Although we'll have warm weather for weeks to come, the waning daylight hours are signaling big changes to come. I'm looking forward to apple and wild grape picking, end of season lettuce and spinach planting, cool mornings and the smell of the leaves. I'm ready to light my stove, watch the flames dance, and think about absolutely nothing while enjoying every moment of it. Nothing like a nice fire to quiet the chatter of the mind and bring your awareness into the present.

We have had a huge run of hot weather here in western WA (98* yesterday):picard:. Rain is showing up a week or so out in the extended forecast. I am getting urges to fill the empty half of the wood shed (which has a newly completed roof) with outside stacked wood before the rain. That must be another sign of approaching Fall!

we're seeing some turning of the leaves already here as well. Sunday morning my 6yo daughter was pushing me to light the stove. Then a bit later she comes outside wearing a sweatshirt and her winter boots. Wife and I had a great laugh over that one. Shes definitely ready for fall.

Noontime shadow on the north side of the house is about three feet longer, give or take.
With the A/C and whatever other reasons I've been sleeping until 7:00 most mornings lately. Haven't been watching sunrises lately.
Yeah it's darker when I get back from my after supper run.

As a teacher, I really notice the longer shadows and loss of daylight come mid august. My wife is also a teacher so it’s a sad time of year in our house

Goldenrod has been in bloom 2 1/2 weeks here, and the lore says 6 weeks from their bloom will be the 1st frost.

The alders here are starting to lose their leaves. Alders turn brown in the fall so we don't get a lot of pretty colours. Down island the maples are starting to turn yellow in different places.

We were around 60ish this morning. Right as the sun started to come over the trees, I shut all the doors and windows, much to my wifes dismay. Nice and cool in the house as we get up to 80ish. I'll open it back up around 5, and repeat the process tomorrow. Supposed to be 90ish tomorrow, so the AC will likely be back on unfortunately. Its been nice to have it off since Saturday though!
