Check the ticker, over eleven cord of firewood and less than half a cord have I taken from lives trees (1 cherry tree and a few crab apple branches cut for the in-laws). Anyway, I guess that makes my yard a landfill of sorts.
Easily 90% of the wood I cut during the year is from standing snags or deadfall.The remainder is from CL scores,my small tree service contact & the rare paid job to remove trees from someone's property.Except for storm damage/disease I can count on 1 hand the number of live healthy trees I've removed in the past 10 years.
