...and I know what I got this time.

    Img_4744a.jpg

There is some red oak, the clean part of the trunk. About 5' long and 24" diameter. Quartered.
Silver maple, clean trunk, also about 5' long but 16"-18" dia., quartered.
Threw a few rounds of douglas fir and an unidentified maple on top.

They say job-site clean-up is scheduled for next Wednesday so I might get a few more loads before then.

Before I go any higher I'm gonna get a headache rack.

The picture is deceptive but the truck is parked on a very steep incline shifting the weight to the back. I've loaded 1,500+ pounds of coal in the back with no problem.

If I start having problems I might add airbags to the back springs...

When my wife is away I know I can always come here for my daily dose of undeserved abuse...

I always get a little buzz from the scent of 2-stroke...

    Yea
side boards & rear window protection a real good idea for a wood hauler.

"Don't mind the mule, load the wagon " :)

    And again...

Finally decided to put a new chain on the saw and it makes a difference. Was using a chain that had been pro sharpened then field touched-up. Was cutting and throwing reasonable chips but I remember the saw doing better. The new chain sped things up a lot. This load took about an hour plus the 10 minute ride each way. Same mix, red oak, hard maple, and two fir rounds on top.

Each load is a week or more worth of heat for me.

You really should put a dent in that tailgate and get it over with.

As soon as it rains or snows my wife takes it. If it has a dent she'll make me fix it.

I shudda kept the '02 Nissan Frontier as my wood hauler. No bells or whistles so she never "borrowed" it.

Except of course this dent which she did backing into a snow bank that concealed a guard-rail.
